"I bought this for my mother for her birthday and so far she loves it. The pots are beautiful and she cannot wait to get planting. She does plan to plant some seeds outside immediately, and I am a little nervous because of some other reviews, but I think she will make do quite well with other seeds she has or can get quickly if the packaged materials don't turn out well. I will be disappointed if they don't because it won't be mom's fault - her thumb is as green as you can get, but only time will tell on the quality of the seed- hence I can't give this a 5-star rating quite yet. But it arrived in perfect order and so far so good!"

"My co-worker was laid off and we shared a love of plants, so I thought it would be a great way of having her think of me each time she worked with her plants! She loved it and her kids did, too."

Nice idea... date: March 28, 2012
"I received this as a gift from my husband, and initially thought it was beautiful. I planted many of the pots but soon found that the plants would have to be transplanted long before they reached maturity or flowering. So, these are really just glorified starter pots. I would value this product at $20. Disappointed.. PS - I use one of the pots now to grow a SMALL succulent that I don't have to transplant."

"This was a gift for someone turning 50. When the package arrived, I checked it to make sure nothing broke or was damaged during transit. Each of the 12 differently colored vases was beautiful and unscathed. I then wrapped the gift, repackaged it and sent it to her via USPS. She was delighted and surprised when she opened it. This is a very good gift for the hard-to-buy for person...you don't need to know the size or color or style...just let nature take care of all that!"

Big hit! date: February 21, 2012
"Got this for my wife for Valentine's day and it was really well received. Came a day early too which was a nice surprise. The little containers are adorable and the matching color-coded seed packets make it real easy to match wth the containers. Excellent selection of flowers included. Pretty cool gift!"

"Too expensive for what you get - 12 little pots with some seeds...should have been half the price. Sent to my elderly mother for Valentine's Day and she will enjoy...but when I saw the product, I was disappointed."

"I received this as a gift and love to plant. The pots are cute, other then that save your money. The seeds sprouted but too many and even after thinning out it is impossible to transplant . Not sure what I will do with the 10 pots and seeds I have left! :("

So Glad I Found This I was looking for something for my good friend, whose mother just passed away. Flowers, or a plant would have been nice, but I wanted something more personal. The Year of Seeds was perfect. Her mother loved to plant and the day before she died, my friend took her outside in the garden to do some planting. My friend loved this--it's a great way to have fond memories of her mom each month she plants the seeds. I haven't seen the red box, since it was delivered to her home, but she said it was beautiful. I'm glad I added it to the purchase.
