"I received this as a gift. I am difficult to shop for and it is adorable. However I don't think it is a good value, it comes with 2 apple seeds. Seeds that may grow into trees that will have an 85% chance of producing apples; if it does fruit it will not be for many years and the apples will be of unknown variety because apples are cross pollinated and do not grow true from seed. I love the concept, I will plant them and graft onto a mature apple tree so I may not have to wait as long. But my son collects apple seeds from apples that he has eaten. The label is offensively misleading. "Grow an American heirloom". Heirloom means something that has belonged to a family for generations. Apple is the family, macintosh, cortland, fuji they are heirlooms of the apple family. Random apples are not heirlooms even if both of their parent plants are. They will be a completely new variety of apple. I feel as though the sender was taken advantage of."
