"I read a few reviews of this item before ordering and was a little nervous because a few were not excellent reviews. However, when I received these they were perfect! Monogram looked great, center, etc. I thought the monogram on top was engraved but could be that I read the description wrong. It is in fact a sticker of some sort. It still looked good and didn't look cheap but the color of the monogram was purple so if you don't think the recipient will like that then you may not want this. I still loved it and would recommend for any newlywed!"

"This would be a great wedding gift for a newlywed couple! For me, it was one of my wife's Christmas gifts. We are not newlyweds, but it's certainly useful nonetheless. She wasn't enamored with it and it is a bit pricey, She was enamored with the box with our initials. As a matter of fact, I think she will end up using the box more than the dish. It is a well made, sturdy box that can be used for other things since you won't need it to hold these because they should be out on your bathroom counter. It came beautifully giftwrapped as well. My wife loves things that are wrapped nicely and this one did not disappoint."

"I officiated my first wedding using this as the ring holder during the ceremony and then as a symbol of the Marriage Box. Below are the words I used during the ceremony to explain what it represents: "Most people get married believing a myth that marriage is a beautiful box full of all the things they have longed for: companionship, intimacy, friendship, etc. The truth is that marriage at the start is an empty box. "The ring dishes do not disappoint. They are finely crafted, perfect size and nicely engraved. Unfortunately, they are presented in a cheaply manufactured box with poorly executed monogramming. The monogramming appears to be decal like. That's my best description. I am thankful that I did not order this as a wedding present but as a congratulations token for an engagement. I would not be comfortable giving this as a wedding gift."

good idea but bad execution August 30, 2012
"i like the idea of this and i like the monogramming a lot and i think it's good of red envelope to offer this at this price point. however, since the lacquer box is white, i really wish red envelope or whoever is doing the monogramming would be more careful. there were obvious scuff and scratch marks on the cover of the box which i am just assuming is from mishandling as a result of the monogramming. they were very visible and i wish i had taken a photo of it to show everyone before i wrapped it. this really ruins the whole gift, regardless of the monogramming/personalization factor and the fact that it's actually a great gift item...i'm really disappointed in the quality of this. i read someone else's review which had indicated the same thing and i thought that it had to be a one time thing and that there's no way red envelope would send something that is obviously scratched and scuffed. i was very wrong. buyer beware - i highly recommend you choose something else."
