"These are beautiful pendants. I purchased two for my wife (representing our two young sons) and bought a high-quality chain separately based on other reviews.I had the boys' first names engraved on one side and their birthdates engraved on the other. The engraving is such an excellent idea, but unfortunately (as many other reviewers have suggested), the engravers nicked and scratched up the pieces during the process and the pendants arrived looking a bit worn as a result. I am planning to follow up with RedEnvelope Customer Service to see what options I have. (either sending us a replacement or giving some discount for the damage) I will follow up on this review based on their response. (and perhaps an additional star!)For anyone looking to purchase these WITH the engraving, I would recommend opening the package first before giving as a gift and planning in extra time just in case you need to send them back and wait for a replacement.In any case, the concept is great and the pendants themselves are very classy. You can dress up or down with them - at least that's what what my sweetheart said. =) Scratches aside, she cried out of joy and gratitude when she opened the beautiful gift box from Red Envelope. Hope you have the chance to give these to someone special in your life!"
