"This necklace is pretty but the amethyst is so dark it looks black and it doesn't sparkle. As it is the larger of the two stones that I got, I am not happy with it. The stone should be better. It is my birthstone and I got my daughter's birthstone as the smaller stone. I may send it back; I haven't decided yet. All other purchases I have made from Red Envelope have been really superb so I am surprised that this one is not. I expect that a lighter stone would be pretty but if you have a ruby or something of that sort as a primary stone, you may want to think again."

"While the stones are very pretty & the necklace is nicely made, overall, for a grown woman, this necklace is way too small. Also, for its' size, it is over-priced. It was to be a Christmas gift for my goddaughter, but I had to return it. Customer Service was very helpful with the return process."
