If only they would stay babies forever. This kit captures that first year with a 4" x 6" photo and handprints or footprints. Just press baby's hand or foot into the soft, mess-free, nontoxic clay. Requires no mixing, baking or painting and is easy to assemble. Exclusively from RedEnvelope.
  • Includes non-toxic impression material, wooden rolling pin and shaping ruler
  • features white acid-free mat boards and two mat background boards
  • offered in natural, white, or espresso (mahogany color is sold out).
  • each frame includes a tan mat that reverses to sage-green and a pink mat that reverses to light blue
  • frame measures 17 1/2" x 1 1/2" x 11 1/2" high
  • optional nickel-plated plaque may be personalized with up to 25 characters per line (two-line maximum). Personalized plaque arrives in an envelope with the product and may be affixed by the recipient at their discretion.
  • clay must be used within six months of received shipment date

"I'm writing this review because my last was was filtered by redenvelope, even though there was nothing worth filtering, other than being a bad review. Long story short, the frame is great, but the clay DOES NOT WORK. Plan on using something else if you really want to get this frame. But then you're overpaying for a decent frame."

Clay is worthless February 09, 2014
"The only reason I give the 2 stars is because the frame and mattes are nice and all, but but the clay is absolute garbage. The first one I kneaded like it said and the more I kneaded the rougher it got. I could not get a smooth consistency no matter how hard I tried. And when I finally settled with something less than ideal to try for the print, there was no way I could get anything resembling a hand print. I would have to break my newborn sons bones to push hard enough to get a print, and even then I probably wouldn't get one. I bought this as a gift for my wife before our son was born, and now we're both just upset. She'd probably be more upset if I told her the outrageous price I paid for this lousy product! Do yourself a favor and get an old fashioned stamp kit if you want your baby's prints. That's what we'll be doing now."

"Two years ago I received this item as a gift to commemorate our first grandchild. It was really pretty and the clay worked very well. I bought another in January 2014 for our second grandchild and the clay was very different. It was very soft and easy to knead as the directions stated to do, but there was no way to keep an impression in it. I would have had to hurt my grandson in order to get a hand or foot print deep enough to stay put. I'm just so disappointed! I will be contacting Red Envelope for either a refund or some replacement clay, but who's to say the 2nd batch will be any better?"

"I purchased this kit three years ago when my first grandchild was born. My son and daughter-in-law loved it, and it makes a wonderful memory for years to come. The frame and clay prints look lovely displayed in their home. Since they had a new baby in October, I wanted to purchase the same gift for them for Christmas, so they would have one to display and keep for each of their children. The new frame was just as nice as before, but the clay problem has NOT been fixed, and that fact completely ruined my Christmas surprise for them. PLEASE keep this product in the Red Envelope line as it is so unique and beautiful when the clay works the way that it should. As I did, previous customers want to keep buying this kit for many years to come. However, assure your clay manufacturer that they need to revert to the clay that you had a few years ago. The clay is definitely different now and it does NOT work. If the impressions do not last, the gift is almost useless. I love this gift, and truly hope that Red Envelope can resolve this problem."

"I purchased this for my six month baby in December and just made the impression last weekend. Clay was soft and easy to knead. I did have to press rather hard to get an impression. Foot impression still not very deep but you can still see it after clay dried. Overall very easy to do, good instructions and came out nicely."

Quality product and easy to use This is the 5th one I have purchased for our grandchildren. It is a quality product and the molds are very easy to use. It comes with pink, blue and beige mats so you can use whichever works best. No mess, no clean up. I have recommended it to many of my friends.
