Valentine's Day for Two
Michael Wurm Friday, January 31, 2014
With less than two weeks until Valentine's Day, it's time to wrap up your planning for the big day of love. In case you're wondering what to do, I'm here to help. As nice as it is to go out to dinner on this special day, how about doing something different and dining at home. Avoid the chaos and high prices of the restaurant scene and plan a romantic evening in.- You probably already have most of the things you'll need. With a few extra special touches, you'll be set for a memorable evening. First, flowers are practically a must on Valentine's Day. You can either have a beautiful arrangement delivered or pick something up at your favorite local spot. Personally, I like being a little unconventional. Why not get your sweetheart's favorite flower or roses in a color other than red? Extra special touches on the table are key to a memorable and romantic evening. These love letter napkins, that feature actual love letters, are sure to create truly inspired conversations. Not only does everyone look great in candlelight, but it adds a romantic glow to the room. Go for something unexpected with an engraved candle. A special date, initials, or a quote makes it personal. Plus, you can burn it again for an anniversary. Something bubbly is always in order for a special occasion. So whether you crack open a bottle of your favorite champagne or sparkling cider, step up your game with some fancy glassware. These love-inspired flutes are beyond perfect. Put your cell phones away. There's always tomorrow to catch up on emails and texts. Tonight is about you and your special someone. Think outside the box and collect memories of the evening. A Polaroid camera is a fun way to capture special moments and savor memories of the evening. Last, but certainly not least, find the perfect gift. Whether it's earrings, cufflinks, or a favorite candy bar, get a gift that is personal, special, and memorable. Put all of these things together and you're set for a unforgettable, romantic evening at home. You'll be thankful you skipped going out and chose to spend the night in. Wishing you and your special someone a Happy Valentine's Day! Michael Wurm, Jr. is a designer and Lifestyle Blogger.
